Writing Quote Friday

Today’s writing quote comes from William Faulkner…

Always dream and shoot higher than you know you can do. Don’t bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than yourself.

Great quote Christi. I might change it to say don’t compare yourself to others, predecessor or contemporary. Therein lies despair. Instead, in whatever you do, aim to make each attempt better than the last.

I’m still playing “catch up” with my blogs and other “computer” related issues :)

There was a little known story of Faulkner and his romantic bent. He loved to spread rose petals on the bed before making love. He also requested that his “love” destroy his private jounals as he didn’t want this softer underside to become known. Of course, she immediately published them. Drat on that. Loved your quote … be true to yourself :)

      Florence,

Glad to hear your computer is on the way to recovery :)
