Memorial Day

Please, thank a soldier today for all they, and their families, have sacrificed and endured to keep us free.

I for one would like to thank Tracy, and her family (which includes two young children and several pets), for all they’ve been through these past few years, which includes deployments to both Afghanistan and Iraq for one family member. In addition, they’ve done several cross-country moves with little notice these past few years, which brought about complete disruptions to their lives. This is a military family that handles everything with class and style.

Thank you Tracy, spouse, and kids for all you do for America!

  1. Christi,
Thanks for the love! I couldn’t have made it through this journey without the support of loved ones and lifelong friends. I appreciate you thinking of our whole family along with all the other troops serving here and abroad and those that made the ultimate sacrifice in honor of our freedom. “All gave some, some gave all.”

  2. Memorial Day has come and gone this year, but I still honor and respect every member of the military past and present. I have a son in the Navy, he’s been in for almost 16 years. Just now he’s on deployment from Norfolk to San Diego aboard the USS Carl Vinson. The ship has been in Norfolk for 3 years to be refitted and is now making its trial runs before full deployment in the near future. Its home base is San Diego. Bill leaves sea duty and goes to shore duty for his last 4 years in Norfolk. Then, he and his family will move to Oklahoma to live near us. YES!!! So, to Christi’s friend serving at this time–I honor you and would love to give you a hug. I’m one of those embarrasing old women who walks up to men and women in uniform to tell them how proud I am of them and of their service. If my gut says they wouldn’t mind a hug, then that’s next.

  3. Winona,
I know for a fact that Tracy and her family live for those moments when people come up and thank them for everything. Things like that make their day!
Congrats on having your family near you soon (though I know the wait is still hard).
    Christi
