Give Up Writing? Never!

Wandering the path to publication can be daunting at times. To all the fellow writers out there, I offer up my favorite quote by Harriet Beecher Stowe…

When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hang on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.

  1. And who among us does not want to try knitting for a while?

I love this quote because it speaks to the heart of the internal struggle we all face, our uncertain future and the terror of waiting to be realized at last in print.

Thanks Christi, for another great Friday quote 🙂

  2. Ramblings,

This month my blog will have a lot of repeated posts and more quotes than usual. I’m doing this so I can focus on writing…though with all the distractions December is bringing I’m not sure how successful I will be 🙂

    Loved your interview with Chuck!

  3. I have to admit there have been times through the years when I was tempted to give up writing. Fortunately those times didn’t last long. I think this is true for many of us. But as an editor recently pointed out to me, publishing is not for wimps. So true!

  4. Laura,
This month has been particulary busy and my writing has fallen by the wayside a bit. I figure other writers are in the same situation 🙂

I really like that quote from your publisher…so true!

  5. Subtle,

It is a quote that has carried me through some dark and challenging times. I took a peek at your blog and know the reason behind your comment and would like to add another one just for you…

    “This too, shall pass.”
