What Did You Say?

No post about writing today…

Instead, let’s have some fun with something my dear hubby said while staring at our cat.

“I think we could train her to walk on a leash.”

(If you’re wondering, no, he’s never owned a cat before.)

I would love, love, LOVE to hear your thoughts on this 🙂

  1. Okay, if you would love, love, love my thoughts so much … here goes …

I had a neighbor who taught her cat to walk on a leash and then proceded to take the cat for walks through the park several times a day. She said it wasn’t fair that only dogs get to go out and take walks outdoors.

Even better … knew a neighbor who taught her two (Pekingeese) can’t spell it … taught them to use the litterbox … someone else in our building taught her dog to use the commode …

Ah yes, the truth is always stranger than fiction.
Give the hubby my regards 🙂

  2. Haha =P

My mom’s allergic to cats, but once my sister asked if I could train my horse to walk on a leash. I pointed to my mare’s halter and lead rope.

  3. Ramblings,

I wonder if the cat was taught young? Like as a baby kitten? Ours is around 6 months old and I’m not sure if that is too old to learn a new trick.

I brought her outside in the backyard today and she wanted to get down and wander so bad, but I didn’t feel like chasing her through the mud (it has rained here a LOT lately) so I held her the whole time while the dog and kids went nuts roaming through the grossness :).

Thanks for the tip that it actually can work. I’ll keep you posted.

  4. Aloha,

You funny :). Did your sister think so too?

Speaking of horses, have you ever ridden or seen a sidesaddle? My main character has to ride sidesaddle and I’d love to pick your brain on the topic.
