Writing Quote Friday

Today’s quote comes from Ernest Hemingway…

“I learned never to empty the well of my writing, but always to stop when there was still something there in the deep part of the well, and let it refill at night from the springs that fed it.”

Carol Garvin suggested today’s quote. Be sure to check out her blog, Careann’s Musings, for fantastic writing tips, beautiful winter pictures, and great stories.

Thanks Carol!

  1. Once again you introduce me to a wonderdul person. I also remembered Careann from Keli Gwyn’s blog and now I have finally added her to my sidebar.

Thank you both for that quote. It reminds us to keep our countinance and the quiet times we need to let that well fill up. Those times of solitary contemplation when we hand ourselves to a greater power.

    Love it 🙂

  2. Ramblings,

I thought that would be a good one for this time of year. The holidays are over and people are throwing themselves back into their WIP’s with great gusto…but sometimes forget to take breaks to refresh.

    Happy Weekend!

  3. Dear Old Ernest! I really like his writing. This quote is now scribbled on the back of an envelope and will soon find its way to a site on my computer along with several other favorite quotes.

By the way, Christi, I’ve taken your advice and posted a blog on Wednesday and a challenge today. Thanks.

  4. Winona,

I can’t take credit for this one, but I can encourage you to visit the one who recommened it to me…Carol 🙂

I’m going to your blog right now to take a peek!

  5. M,

Carol runs a great blog and often puts up pictures and cartoons to support her blog thoughts. In fact, she recently put up a cartoon about the stages of being a writer. Stop by, you’ll enjoy it!
