Writing Quote Friday

Today’s writing quote comes from E.B. White…

Writing is an act of faith, not a trick of grammar.

*Tsunami alert…I live in Oregon, less than an hour from the coast. All is well here, and I’ll provide updates as needed.

  1. Television is blasting evacuation warnings for those who live on the coast, minute by minute updates of wave heights, and warning sight-seers to not even try to go out there.

Local stations have taken over national news (Today Show, Good Morning America, etc…). The first wave just hit the place we always go to in Florence and pulled back.

We are waiting for more now…

The photos/video from Japan are horrifying!

  2. I DO like that quotation. I think I need it taped up in front of me when I’m struggling. 🙂

Glad to hear the tsunami didn’t do too much damage in OR. The BC south coast thankfully saw very little of the higher water. Our prayers are with the people of Japan. We have extended family members there, but they’re fine.

  3. Carol,

I saw that quote and snapped it up right away. Sometimes I feel like I need to remember that writing isn’t just getting the words in the right order, it’s finding the right words to express myself. (2nd drafts are for word order right? 🙂 )

Glad all is well with your family,
