A Much Needed Vacation

I took a much-needed vacation over the weekend!

Here’s me taking our twins down to the beach. Dear Hubby took the photo from the deck of the hotel.

Here’s a shot of another beach we played on…

And here’s the twins getting ready to explore a cave (it only goes in about four feet, but that’s more than enough to spark the imagination of two six-year-olds)

How was your weekend?

  1. Christi, that looks like a beautiful place. Glad you had the chance to get away for the weekend. We had wind and rain in dairy farm country, upstate NY.

  2. Monica,

We live about 45 minutes from the Pacific Ocean and it’s become quite a nice place to getaway for the day. We also were fortunate enough to have another couple we’ve known for over ten years drive down from Seattle to join us for the weekend. It was great fun and just the relaxing break we needed!

Hey, one more thing. I see from your comment email that you’ve started a blog but it’s set to private. Is that on purpose? Otherwise I’d love to stop by πŸ™‚

    Thanks for visiting,

    • Christi, I haven’t got the blog up and running yet. I’m still figuring out WordPress. I hope to bel be opening up shop soon.

PS – I finished True Grit over the weekend. Good book!

    • Florence,

We had a blast! It was so much fun and a great escape from the goings-on in our “real life” πŸ˜€

  3. That looks lovely. Glad to hear you had a nice weekend. πŸ™‚
My weekend consisted of working, taking a few pictures and revising some of my latest NaNoWriMo novel.

      • Thank you! πŸ™‚
If cats are interesting. I uploaded some to my Flickr account if you’d like to see (there’s a link in the sidebar on my blog). And another hobby project which I’m still debating with myself whether I’m going to make public or not.

        • I checked them out…love your cats. And you have a great mastery of using light to create additional visual interest in your shot!

          • Aww, thank you so much! I practice a lot. Some of my interest was sparked by the photographer in my last NaNoWriMo novel. Plus I had to reseaerch so much on photography that I learnt a little bit too. XD

  4. Your pictures reminded me of living here! Little coves and beaches where people once settled and raised their families. One picture that really stuck out was the middle one. It is similar to what I pictured in my head when writing the opening chapters of my little opus! :o)

  5. Karen,

If you like that picture, get over to Google and do a search on images of Heceta Lighthouse in Oregon, USA. You should find tons of inspiration since that is the lighthouse in the picture we took πŸ˜€

    Thanks for stopping by,

  6. Great photos. I love the sea, the sand and every cave.

I worked 26 1/2 outside the house, built a compost bin for manure and was a judge in a teen writing contest — in other words, I had a busy weekend. Anyway, it wasn’t fit out Sunday for man, woman or beast. Even out donkey spent the day inside, peeking out now and again to see if the rain and wind had taken a break.

    Thanks for sharing.

  7. Diane,

Wow you were super busy! The teen writing contest sounds very interesting. How did you end up being the judge?

I saw the pictures of your new pet donkey on your blog. Very cute πŸ˜€

  8. We spent the weekend with our daughter and her husband to celebrate our granddaughter’s first birthday. We had a wonderful time but then had to come back to the real world.

It looks as though you all had a wonderful time as well.

  9. I won’t be jealous, I won’t be jealous.
^_^ What a lovely set of pictures. That cave is fantastic, it could spark the imagination in this family.

Our weekend was filled with the much dreaded — CLOTHES shopping.
    four stores. 1 blouse.
    I hate clothes shopping.

So glad your weekend was better than that!!

  10. Comfy,

Me and the Dear Hubby were talking last night about the boy’s stance in the cave photo and how I could hold a captioning contest as to what he’s thinking. Look for that next week πŸ˜€

    Clothes shopping…ugh!

  11. I know I’m ridiculously late commenting on this, but congrats on getting away! I took a spa day last Wed, and it was heavenly – although three or four days would have been even better πŸ™‚ I did some yoga, got a massage, and sat in hot baths. I felt like a new person when I got out of there.

  12. Meghan,

A spa day sounds wonderful. Our last house we lived in had a hot tub and I miss it each and every day, especially on winter nights.

Congrats on getting away for some much needed R and R!
