Blog Hiatus and a Writing Quote

I’m putting my blog on a brief hiatus so I can focus on my writing. While I’m off doing that, please enjoy this quote about writing from Mary Higgins Clark…

The first four months of writing the book, my mental image is scratching with my hands through granite. My other image is pushing a train up the mountain, and it’s icy, and I’m in bare feet.

  1. Ooooh, I like the thought of swimming through mud…that would be fun and messy 🙂

(Can you tell I was a tomboy growing up?)

  2. Good luck on your writing! Have a good hiatus 😀

I love that analogy. Writing a novel certainly isn’t as easy as most people think it is… especially if you have school/work in the way, too!

  3. Aloha,

How funny that you left a comment today because I was just thinking of you and wondering where you’d gone 😀

I totally agree that the actual work of writing the novel is waaaaay underestimated by most people!

    Thanks for stopping by,

  4. I think that it is wonderful that you are taking your time to focus on your writing. I have to do that more than I thought and don’t always have time to be on the internet. So balance is key, I just loose my keys a lot! lol We will miss you but also wish you the best.

  5. Regina,

My blog is still going to be up and running with posts on the usual days. Just instead of the regular posts about writing related stuff, I’m doing only quotes about writing. So it will be like “Writing Quote Friday” on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for the rest of this month.

I’ll still respond to comments and I’m always hanging out with the #editmongering crowd over on twitter too 🙂
