A Special Guest Host for the Fourth of July!

Today’s guest host is Reid Lance Rosenthal, who is celebrating a milestone… two of his books were selected to be today’s Amazon Kindle Daily Deal!

You’ll recall Reid was the judge of the “Best First” contest, and even though he was in the midst of fighting to save his ranch from the Arapaho wildfires he still managed to fulfill his judging duty and pick the winners. He’s a man of his word even when faced with staggering challenges, and he’s a fantastic author too.

Take it away, Reid!

This sweeping multi-era series is compared by reviewers and authors to Lonesome Dove, Centennial, L’Amour (“with steam”) and called by some “the Gone With The Wind of the West.” The tale bursts with the action, romance and promise of historical America and the West.

The epic saga of Threads West begins in 1854 with the first of five, richly textured, complex generations of unforgettable, multicultural characters. The separate lives of these driven men and independent women from Europe and America are drawn to a common destiny that beckons seductively from the wild and remote flanks of the American West. Swept into the dangerous currents of the far-distant frontier by the mysterious rivers of fate, the power of the land and the American spirit, their journeys are turbulent quests intertwined with romance and adversity, passions and pathos, despair and triumph.

You will recognize the characters who live in these pages. They are you. They are us. This is not only their story. It is our story.

“Long ago, I fell madly in love with Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry.… The splendor and adventure of  THREADS WEST has now surpassed my love of McMurtry’s Western saga…packed with adventure, romance, history, conflict, and emotion.… Far more romantic/sexy than McMurtry ever wrote…a real feel of how the West was won, by men AND women.… Five stars is not enough!”

~ Eve Paludan, Two-time #1 National bestseller, Writer’s Digest Book Club

“Fluent and strong…sensual, evocative and unforgettable…compared to McMurtry’s Pulitzer-Prize-winning Lonesome Dove and Michener’s Centennial.… Rosenthal’s epic masterpiece will rival even some of Louis L’Amour’s best loved work.”

  1. Christi, one of the wonderful benefits of your book coming out has been the great guests and other similar works you have highlighted on your blog. Each time you talk about Astraea Press and their other authors, or you focus on the great tales from the American West … I not only meet new and talented writers … I am privy to a page in American history.

    Thanks for this post 🙂

    • Florence,

Yay! I’m so happy you like my new “Guest” days on Thursdays, because I was wondering if you’d like to host one to talk about your Etsy page and maybe any upcoming news you’d like to share?

      Let me know…

      Christi

  2. I agree with Florence, learning about other authors is one of the fun things about visiting Christi’s blog. And I’d love to hear from Florence about her writing these days and her Etsy shop. I love Etsy.

    • Monica,

I tried Etsy a few times and need to get back over more. I know there’s some great finds for me, I just have to look more. But I have checked out lots of Florence’s stuff and it’s FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!

      I highly recommend!

      Christi
