Tainted Dreams

While Along the Way Home is considered a “Stand Alone” novel, which means it can be read by itself because it comes to a logical ending, I couldn’t resist continuing Kate and Jake’s story in Tainted Dreams.

TaintedDreams_1600x2400 FINAL2BACK COVER COPY…

Sometimes, the end justifies the means…

Kate Davis arrived into Oregon City transformed from a pampered daughter of fortune into a determined woman with a plan—fulfill her father’s dream of starting a horse ranch in Oregon Territory.

She quickly discovers a harsh truth—even thousands of miles from home, on an unsettled land America doesn’t yet own or govern, gender still takes precedence over ability. Refusing to be ruled once again by the stifling laws and societal norms she’d escaped by leaving Virginia, Kate begins creatively claiming what is rightfully hers.

Until a visit to the land office changes everything.

Jake Fitzpatrick guided Kate across the Oregon Trail, and fell in love with her along the way. Now he wants to marry her and build a life together, but a ruthless man from Jake’s past threatens to reveal a dark secret, and destroy everything he’s worked so hard to achieve.

  5. I just finished Along the way Home and couldn’t wait to start the next book! Soooo sad I couldn’t start it but very much looking forward to when it does come out. Its crazy wonderful that this was your first book. It was very refreshing and suspensful and heartwrenching all at the same time. My husband chuckled at me when he would walk in the room and I would be wiping tears away while reading. I wish you all the luck in the world with your career because it sure seems you are on your way. Thankyou for an adventure.

    • Stephanie,

Okay, now you’re making ME cry! 🙂

It was such a struggle to get this finished, and then published, so I really appreciate your kindness in this comment.

  6. I’m coming to the conclusion of Along the Way Home. I cried a little over her dad but cried like a baby over her brother. I peeked at the end of the book to see what else you had written, and came across Tainted Dreams. I see it’s set to come out this year. I really look forward to more of Jake and Kate. I’m looking forward to more of a romance connection between them. Although, I love how their relationship built through out in ATWH, however, I wouldn’t mind a bit more of a relationship now. 🙂 I hope we see more of Margaret and William. I will miss Bonnie, Ruth and Matthew.

    • Jennifer,

  8. Loved Along the way home. I think it’s right up there with Nicholas sparks romances. I cannot wait to read more. Keep them coming!!
